Mark Skinner is living with severe haemophilia, as well as being a lawyer and patient advocate. Mark talked to touchIME on World Hemophilia Day about the daily burden of disease, how it affects his every decision and his hope for a cure. He also explained how treatment has improved life for many and how he has adapted to thrive and live life to the full.
Professor Johnny Mahlangu (Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital, Johannesburg, South Africa) talked with touchIME on World Hemophilia Day about the evolving treatment paradigm and changing treatment goals. He highlighted that many unmet needs remain, including a high treatment burden for those living with the disease, and while the first gene therapies have been approved, standard treatments are not always readily available in some regions.
